Concerning the fact that hands are a notorious age-give away, you would sure want to hide those signs of aging. Did you know that wearing nail paints can take off few years from your hands and feet! Studies have shown that nail polish can distract people from noticing the maturity signs on hands. Besides making the hands and feet look more attractive, nail paints can make your hands and feet look younger.

If you have been applying traditional nail paints till now, you need to switch to OPI gel colors to add more years to your hands and feet. OPI gel nail polish is the most sought after product in the nail paints market. OPI is an ultraviolet manicure system that allows the nails to look healthy and strong while remaining chip free. Let’s look at some of the benefits that you can get from OPI gel colors.

Instant Drying – Gel polishes dry quickly after application without leaving a burning sensation on your skin. Their quick drying feature is perfect for putting on close-toe shoes after a pedicure.

Longer Lasting – OPI gel colors look and feel like a lacquer and not think like gels. They last up to two to three weeks, maintaining their shine, which is much longer than traditional nail paints.

Wide Color Range – OPI gel colors come in a wide array of colors to choose from. You can select from some of the most popular shades available from OPI portfolio, which is expected to increase in the coming months.

Easy Application – Unlike acrylic nails, which take hours of application, gel nail polishes take about a few minutes. There’s virtually no waiting time between two consecutive applications. After the last coat, you would be immediately ready to hit the party with perfectly lacquered, dry nails.

Non-Damaging – The most important advantage of OPI nail polishes is that the application is totally safe for the nails because the gel-polish system does not fill the nail bed unlike acrylic nails.

A smooth skin is every woman’s dream. You may be applying home care recipes and spending time at salons to soften and smoothen your skin. Moisturizing, ex-foliating, and other processes do help to smooth skin. However, if you want to go that extra mile to improve the look of your complexion, microdermabrasion is a must for you.

Do not confuse microdermabrasion with simple dermabrasion that removes the deep layers of the skin and takes a longer time to heal. Facial microdermabrasion is an effective method to soften fine lines and wrinkles by superficially abrading the top skin layer. It has almost no healing time and gives sure-shot results.

It is best to fix an appointment with a botanic skin care expert to get the most out of the treatment. Your aesthetitician would typically use a machine that shoots out small crystals at high speed and suctions them back up to soften the skin. Alternatively, a vibrating paddle is also used in place of crystals to sand the topmost skin layer. The result would be a rejuvenated skin with considerable improvement in fine lines and wrinkles. You may also try microdermabrasion at home but it can’t match a professional treatment. So, spending some time and bucks at a spa can give you better results besides getting pampered in the luxurious setting of the spa.

Microdermabrasion, if not done in a proper manner, can cause broken capillaries and skin bruising. So, be sure to choose botanic skin care treatment in which harsh products are not used. Also, get the treatment done from a professional with a good experience. After all, you do not want to take any chances with your skin.

Wish you a happy and safe microdermabrasion!

As your age goes up, everything else starts to deteriorate – your physical appearance, your health, etc. Sagged and wrinkled face is one of the most common problems aging women face. In this article, we give you reasons to smile more and turn back the clock by an average of seven years or more.

Facelift to improve appearance

Facelift surgery can work wonders for your skin and make you look visibly younger. Skin symptoms that can be improved with a facelift include but not limited to:

• Sagging cheeks

• Excess/loose skin under the chin and jaw

• Jowls

• Creases on any part of the face

• Loss of tone in the jaw

• Wrinkles

You don’t have to look physically unfit to go for a facelift. Some of the best candidates for facelift also include people who are non-smokers  are physically healthy, and also those who are of normal weight. However, if you suffer from diabetes, you may not qualify for a facelift surgery. Your aesthetician would be the best person to determine if you can have a facelift.

Before scheduling a facelift, it is important to meet your surgeon to talk about your specific problems, the goals and what the surgery would be like. If you smoke, your skin care expert might ask you to quit smoking before the treatment so that you can get better results.

Till now if you are thinking of the traditional facelift methods in which cuts are made on your skin, you are mistaken. The 21st century has something revolutionary to offer you. Radio frequency facelift without surgery is an excellent treatment that uses electrical pulses to tone facial muscles, reduce wrinkles and also fight cellulite. RF facelift delivers heat energy and penetrates not just to the middle levels of the skin but also to the lower levels, thereby increasing growth and elasticity without causing any damage to the skin surface. So, you can burn fat and revive your skin both at the same time. Isn’t that amazing!

Hands are often the most noticeable parts in professional/personal situations and sadly, they are also one of the most neglected by many women. Your hands and feet are equally important as your face and must look clean and well-groomed at all times. Although the skin on our hands and feet may look the same as the rest of our body, it is actually quite different and must be taken special care of. Hands are involved in almost all household chores and feet support the whole weight of the body and perform countless daily activities like standing, walking, running, etc., which require a certain amount of friction. This is the reason the skin on hands and feet is rough with ridges. Here are few essentials that you must do to ensure that your hands and feet are well cared for.

Wash your feet twice a day – while taking a bath in the morning and before going to bed. Hands should be washed several times a day to curb the spread of germs. Use a moisturizing soap to prevent your hands from going dry. If your hands are exposed to a lot of water and/or chemicals, do not forget to wear gloves. Before going out in the sun, apply sunscreen to your hands and feet too besides your face and other exposed parts of your body. Once or twice a week, exfoliate your hands and feet to remove the dead skin. A pumice stone proves the best to get rid of the dead cells on the heels. Scrub your feet with a pumice stone after taking a bath or after soaking them in warm water to get smooth feet. Massage your hands and feet with a lotion to keep them hydrated. Always keep a sanitizer in your hand bag so that you can use it whenever water is not available before you gorge on something on the go.

Last, but not the least, go for a professional manicure and pedicure at regular intervals to get that extra attention you want to draw to your pretty hands and feet.

If you don’t have time for intensive skin care regime, you must not forget the basics. A good skin care is crucial to keep your skin healthy and glowing for years and to delay to process of aging. Below are five no-nonsense tips that you must include in your daily skin care routine.

1. Protection from the sun – The harmful UV rays of the sun can wreak havoc on your skin – causing wrinkles, age spots, and other skin troubles – in the extreme cases, too much exposure to sun’s rays can cause skin cancer. It is, therefore, very important to protect yourself from the sun.Wear an SPF sunscreen of at least 15. If you remain outdoors for longer hours, apply sunscreen every 2 hours and more often when you swim or perspire. It is best to avoid the sun between 10am and 4pm – try to stay indoors during this time. If you have to go out, wear full sleeved, cotton shirts, long pants and cover your head with a scarf or a hat.

2. Smoking is a Big No – If you smoke, you will grow older sooner than you otherwise would, besides making your skin look dull, wrinkled, and worn out. Smoking depletes the oxygen layer from the skin and damages collagen and elastin. In addition, the facial expressions that you make while smoking, like pursing your lips when inhaling and squinting eyes to exhale can cause early wrinkles. The only remedy of not to get affected by smoking is to quit smoking altogether.

3. Follow gentle treatment for your skin – If you shave and cleanse daily, your skin can get devoid of essential nutrients. It is best to keep it gentle. Avoid taking hot water baths and long showers. Do not use strong soaps and detergents; choose mild ones instead. Whenever you shave, apply a shaving cream before shaving and an astringent after it. Always shave your hair in the direction of hair growth, not against it. After bathing, gentle pat your skin, don’t rub with a towel to avoid depletion of moisture.

4. Consume a healthy diet – Eat a good amount of fruits, vegetables, whole grains, nuts, lean proteins, vitamins, minerals, etc. Avoid processed foods and unhealthy fats.

5. Manage stress well – If you lead a life full of stress and worries, take steps to eliminate stress from your life. Uncontrolled stress can take a toll on your skin and health – the results can be much more dramatic than you can expect.

Sixties is the time when most women look old and have a wrinkled, dry, flaky and sagging skin. With all those signs of aging, you might feel that it’s too late to look younger at 60s and beyond. There is, however, one good thing about being in your 60s – from your 60s on, you can have a stable skin because your hormones stop fluctuating. If you had been taking good care of your skin till your 50s, you can still look beautiful and radiant in 60s. If you had not been taking care of your skin regularly, you need to  consider more aggressive measures like Botox, chemical peels and even plastic surgery as the last resort. Voice your concerns with your dermatologist and get yourself treated effectively. Here are some tips that you can follow to delay loose, sagging skin and other signs of aging.

• Avoid the sun as much as possible. If you have to step out, apply a sunscreen followed by a moisturizer.

• Get botox done at regular intervals after discussing with your aesthetician to smooth out the lines.

• If you have brown spots, chemical peels can prove to be quite effective to get them removed.

• Moisturizing your skin several times a day is vital to lessen signs of aging.

• At 60s, you must exfoliate your skin every day to brighten your skin and produce new cells faster.

• Follow the ritual of cleansing, moisturizing and toning religiously.

• Take enough anti-oxidants like green tea, vitamin C, vitamin E, and nuts, fruits, green leafy vegetables, milk, etc.

• Don’t forget to hydrate your body with at least 8 glasses of water in a day.

• Eat healthy foods; avoid junk, alcohol and smoking.

• Get a good night’s sleep – at least 7 hours every night.

• Use a hydrating eye-cream to protect the delicate skin around your eyes.

These easy tips can help you to have a great skin even in your 60s and beyond.

Forties is a very crucial age for skin care. This is the time when gravity takes its toll and your cheeks begin to fall, smile lines grow deeper and the signs of sun damage in the form of discoloration or melanoma are much more prominent. The skin’s pores also become larger and the skin begins to loosen. To avoid all these conditions, it is imperative to go for one or more of these - botanic facials, microdermabrasion, Botox, chemical peels, etc. Your aesthetician is the right person to advise the right treatment to make your skin appear smoother.

In your 40s, your estrogens level tapers your skin and makes it look much more drier. You will need to add extra moisturizer and products that contain peptide, a collagen building substance. As in 30s, cleanse your face with a non-foaming cleanser to remove dead cells. Also, a retinol-based product is essential. Choose a moisturizer that contains antioxidants so that you can reverse the damage. For night-time, use a moisturizer with good amount of glycerine to retain the skin moisture.

Once you are in your 50s, you will experience hormonal changes that can make your skin look dull and sagging. Some women may see hyper pigmentation, deep furrows and marionette lines. For this age, there is an array of options available to lift cheekbones, melt fat and tighten skin. Consult your aesthetician for the best option for you and go for it.

Your fore-most concern in 50s should be to moisturize. A moisturizer that contains SPF should be the ideal one for you. During the day, apply a peptide rich serum under SPF and at night, apply a retinoid before your moisturizer. In addition to applying products that contain peptides, retinoid, alpha hydroxyl, or amino acids, talk to your aesthetician for taking laser treatments and non-invasive/invasive skin rejuvenation options.

Forties and fifties are the times when you need to consider aggressive measures to get the best results. Don’t hesitate to go for treatments advised by your aesthetician. Good Luck!

When you are at the end of your 20s and beginning of your 30s, you need to take extra care of your skin because at this time, your body’s ability to replace damaged cells begins to decrease. Many of you may begin to see lines around your eyes and between your brows, caused by facial expressions. The 30s may be the time to consider botanic chemical peels, microdermabrasion, or spa therapies, depending on your skin condition. Take an appointment with your aesthetician to get your skin analysis done and the right treatment for your skin. Apart from this, you must also follow some easy at-home solutions to brighten your complexion and to keep your skin looking youthful.

Exfoliation is very essential once you enter your 30s. At this point, skin discoloration caused by the sun or melasma (the mask of pregnancy that can also occur because of birth control) are the two challenges you may be faced with. To counter these two effects, exfoliation is a must because your skin’s natural tendency to exfoliate drops to every 14 days as opposed to every 35 days in 20s.

Cleansing your skin is another must-do regime. However, instead of using a foaming cleanser in 20s, it’s now time to switch over to a non-foaming, non-drying cleanser. Next, use a daytime moisturizer before applying a sunscreen to help guard against photo damage. This ritual also helps to decrease the damage of aging skin. For improving the overall texture and tone of your skin, apply a retinoid based product at night. Avoid it putting on your upper eye-lids as this is a delicate area. If you feel you need additional moisturizer post application of a retinoid, it’s good to use a hydrating cream (without retinoid to avoid over treating your skin).

If you follow these rituals regularly, you will be successful in maintaining the natural glow of your skin and will look younger and attractive for a significantly longer time.

For a beautiful skin, you need to take care of your skin at all times. In this article and the next few, we will bring you essential steps that you must take to care for your skin in your 20’s, 30’s, 40’s, 50’s and beyond.

Skincare in 20’s

When you are in your 20’s, you are in one of the best times for your skin. At this age, your skin is collagen-rich with oodles of elastin and the cell turnover is at its optimum level. Women in their 20’s glow with a youthful skin. However, this does not mean that you need not take care of your skin in this age. Prevention is better than cure is the right mantra for those who are in their 20’s.

The first thing that you must do is to use judicious amount of sunscreen to keep your skin protected from harmful UV rays. If you have an oily skin, you need not use a moisturiser on top of your sunscreen; a light gel-cream in winter months can do the trick. For those with a dry skin, a layer of creamy moisturiser no matter what the season is essential.

Many tend to get breakouts in their 20’s, which is a result of clogged pores. So, to keep blocked pores at bay, choose a non-oily skincare product, preferably with ‘non-comedogenic’ printed on the label’. You must consult your esthetician for a more accurate analysis of your skin needs.

Pimples are the next common thing in 20’s. Salicylic acid is one of the most effective ingredients for treating pimples. Salicylic acid, a BHA (beta-hydroxy acid) can be commonly found in face washes, moisturisers and spot creams. You can also apply creams with retinoids (anti-aging agents derived from vitamin A) after consulting with your esthetician. These rituals can help prevent clogged pores by boosting the natural exfoliation process. However, blondes and redheads should avoid products with retinoids as these tend to irritate the skin and make it drier.

Do not try to experiment with products; get your skin assessment done and then choose the right products after talking to an esthetician.

A soft and supple skin is a dream of every woman. However, not all are blessed with it. Many of us struggle to float away our dead skin cells, smooth out lines and wrinkles and reduce all telltale signs of ageing. Now you need not blow out your money and efforts to look your best. Simply consult your esthetician expert to choose the right botanic facial for you to have a radiant, youthful glow.

The speciality of botanic oils lies in their small molecular structure that helps them to penetrate easily into the skin. Botanic oils are rich in moisturising fatty acids like omega 3, 6, 9 that strengthen the skin’s lipid layer and stabilize natural oil production.

Both men and women can benefit a lot from botanic facials. For people with sensitive skin, these can prove to be a blessing. Skins that experience frequent blackheads, clogged or enlarged pores can heave of sign of relief by going for high-powered serum facial that can help clear up acne without drying. You can also fight signs of ageing and take care of environmentally damaged skin with the help of a multivitamin repair.

People with oily skin often dread getting botanic facials done because of the usage of oil based products. Oily skin must be dealt with oils cautiously; however, avoiding oils altogether can actually exacerbate the acne problem by stripping the skin of its natural oils. Some amount of hydration is required even for oily skins to prevent clogged pores and breakouts. Your esthetician is the best person to recommend the right products for you. So, don’t hesitate to get an appointment for a botanic facial. If you have a dry skin, botanic facials with rich oils are ideal for you, especially in cold winter months.

For those who don’t have enough time to spend in a spa, they can get a quick facial done just before a party to get their skin cleansed, exfoliated, toned and moisturised, without any skin extractions that take longer time.

Whatever your skin type or condition, you can look more attractive by getting a botanic facial done from an expert esthetician.

What is Ultra-cavitation?

Ultra-cavitation is a revolutionary technique for localised fat reduction. It is a safe, low-cost, non-surgical method to get your body into the shape you always desired. Ultrasound cavitation is an excellent alternative to liposuction.

How does it work?

The adipose tissue stores energy in the form of fat. It is composed mainly by the lipocytes also called fat cells. Ultra-cavitation targets the adipose tissue directly using low frequency ultrasound, breaking it into small pieces, forming micro-bubbles that turn fat into a liquid substance. This process is known as cavitation. The liquid is then flushed out from the body using the lymphatic and the urinary system. When you are working out, you have to wait for half an hour or more for the cavitation to happen, whereas with ultrasound, the process is within minutes of the treatment. Some of the most problematic body areas like the abdomen, flanks, thighs, buttocks, inner knees, upper arm, male breasts, etc., can all be contoured with the help of this wonderful technology. An added advantage of ultra-cavitation is that it neither requires anaesthesia nor circumstances surgery.

A session of ultra sound lasts a maximum of 30 minutes, depending on the patient and the area to be treated. The next session is performed after about a week. To see desired results, you may require 6 to 10 sessions, again depending on the area and the thickness of fat deposits.

Advantages of Ultra-cavitation

• Non-invasive treatment

• No scarring/long-term markings

• No anaesthesia or hospitalisation

• Quite affordable and safe

• Elimination of fat is through a natural process

• Gives immediate results

• No down-time

• Suitable for both men and women

Limitations: Before commencing the treatment, consult with your cosmetologist if you can get the treatment done. There are various conditions under which ultra-cavitation cannot be performed. Some of these are:

• During menstruation cycle

• Acute fever

• Heart, liver, or kidney diseases

• Skin infections

• Any other chronic diseases

• Allergy to ceramics, etc.

• Cancer of any type

• Pregnant or breast-feeding

• Infections of any form, etc.

A few years ago, microdermabrasion was available only at hospital or clinics. If you wanted to have a cosmetic procedure, you were required to consult a doctor and arrange for a surgical microdermabrasion. However, today, the procedure is much easier. You can simply book an appointment at a local spa and get yourself treated.

Microdermabrasion is an intensive skin-exfoliating treatment that has been developed with sophisticated technology to exfoliate the skin by providing natural nutrients to revitalize the skin. Microdermabrasion effectively removes the outermost dead skin layer or the skin’s barrier layer also called the stratum corneum, leaving your skin gentle and healthy-looking. The treatment is completely non-invasive as it involves removing only a small layer of the skin in a sand-paper fashion. This tricks you into believing that there has been a mild injury. You need not panic at this stage because your damaged skin gets healed itself with your skin’s tendency to send new, healthy skin cells to the surface, gently replacing the old, worn out ones. The treatment is almost painless and you won’t feel much irritation on your skin. The recovery time is pretty fast - about thirty minutes to an hour. Depending on your skin type, your dermatologist would select the right microdermabrasion kit for you so that you can get the maximum benefits.

In the recent years, microdermabrasion has become one of the most popular cosmetic procedures in America, owing to the excellent results it gives. Post a botanic microdermabrasion treatment, your skin will appear beautiful, glowing and clear. The effects are noticeable immediately. Whether you have fine lines, superficial wrinkles, age spots, scars, acne marks, stretch marks or any other signs that make you look dull and unattractive, you can bid farewell to all those adverse conditions. Reward yourself by booking an appointment today and be ready to receive compliments for a soft, smooth, vibrant skin!

Did you ever want to try a chemical peel but were afraid of the word ‘chemical’? Read on to clear the myths surrounding chemical peels.

Chemical Peels and their Benefits to the Skin

Chemical peels are acids derived from fruit or botanical sources. These are applied to the skin surface to break down the bonds of oil and water that hold the skin cells together. Chemical peels help in shedding the old skin cells, giving way to form newer cells, thereby making the skin look brighter and feel smoother. Chemical peels come with different pH levels. Peels with lower pH penetrate deeper. Applying peels also result in anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial and anti-bacterial actions that help in decreasing redness and in clearing the break-outs.

Chemical peels help in erasing fine lines and give the skin a smoother, brighter appearance within 1 to 3 treatments. They also tighten skin by erasing wrinkles and minimizing enlarged pores and even pigmentation. If you have a sun-damaged skin, chemical peels can work wonders for you. You can also get acne and acne scars and dark spots removed from your skin. To sum it up, every rough and dull complexion can benefit greatly from chemical peels. Chemical peels can be used the face, neck, chest, back, arms and legs. To start with chemical peel treatment, light peels are recommended, the ones that do not penetrate deeper into skin layers. Gradually, medium peels can be performed, depending on the skin type and condition.

Are Chemical Peels Safe?

Chemical peels can prove to be safe for your skin unless you are prone to keloids, an overgrowth of scar tissue, or suffer from skin discoloration. Chemical peels should also not be tried on those who bruise or bleed easily. So, unless you fall in any of the above categories, you can try chemical peels without any risks and reap the advantages for yours skin.

Talk to your dermatologist or your aesthetician to recommend the right peels for your skin type and condition.

A flawless, glowing skin is every woman’s dream. Some women are blessed with a beautiful skin, while others have to take care of their skin to make it look healthy and youthful. Whether you have been born with a radiant skin or are vying to have one, the numerous benefits of the magic liquid, water, cannot be taken for granted to have a beautiful skin and healthy body.

Hydration is the watchword when it comes to good health or good skin. Our body is made up of roughly 70% of water and so it is highly imperative to keep oneself hydrated at all times.

The daily activities that we indulge in, like walking, running, or simply getting out in the sun, take a toll on our skin. The effects are even more with the sun’s rays and after regular gym sessions. Having enough water helps to take care of our vital organs and increases the flow of oxygen and nutrients into the cells.  Water also helps to detoxify our body, thus resulting in a brighter complexion. It also regulates the body temperature for longer hours spent out in the sun.

You can boost the brightening effect of water by adding a tablespoon of apple cider vinegar in it. Adding apple cider vinegar is known to cut cellulite deposits and add more to the detoxification process. It is rich in potassium and malic acid. Potassium is vital to building muscles and malic acid is anti-viral, anti-bacterial, and anti-fungal. Malic acid is useful in seasons with high humidity. Potassium usually lacks in adult’s diet. So, add a spoonful of apple cider vinegar to double its properties.

Although it may not taste great, but it is packed with so many benefits that you cannot afford to avoid it if you want to have a clear skin free from blemishes.

The relaxing properties of a good massage are known to all; however, there are many useful advantages of a massage that are not commonly known. Let’s read about them and reap their benefits.

Rigorous gym sessions can prove to be rough on the body and result in the building of lactic acid that is lodged within the tissues when spasms or strains occur. This causes painful knots, inflammation and decreases the range of motion. A massage therapy can break these pockets of lactic acid, thereby increasing flexibility and muscle tone.

Another great advantage of massage is that it helps to break down the deposits of fat and promotes circulation. Getting yourself a good massage done will not only improve your complexion and skin tone but also help you to banish that cellulite away.

Next time when you book yourself an appointment for a spa, don’t forget to request for a salt spa along with your regular massage. The salt spa is known as an excellent way to bring an extra glow to the skin. It also helps to embrace the changing seasons in the perfect way. Indulging in a salt glow, as little as once a month can show instant results and make you look beautiful and youthful.

Are you worried about those wrinkles appearing on your skin? Have you been noticing sagging and loosened skin in the past days/weeks? Let’s face it! Even the most beautiful women show signs of ageing on their skin and even the healthiest ones. How you wished that you could remain young forever and could look your best! It’s no more a wish now. The 21st century women can say bye-bye to their old, saggy skin by opting for a revolutionary non-surgical technique called radio frequency facelift.

Radio frequency face lift is the next big thing in the non-surgical facial re-modeling segment. Needles and botox have been popular for quite a while but none of the two provide a satisfactory and permanent solution. Radio frequency face lift or RFF is known by its trade name “Thermacool” that uses uni-polar and bipolar radio frequency waves to rejuvenate the deep tissue layers under the skin. Needless to say, RFF is an excellent way to rejuvenate the deep skin tissues to restore the shine of a youthful skin without downtime or surgery.

Advantages of RFF (Radio Frequency FaceLift) :

• Increases skin luminosity

• Remodels and reconstructs face and neck

• Improves the skin tone

• Decreases wrinkles and sagging skin

• Tightens loose skin

• Enhances the collagen level

Yes, as the old adage goes, beauty is indeed skin deep. Want to have that bronzed, glowing look this season – who would not want to... Simply follow these tips and you will fall in love with yourself!

The four must haves for any season that will leave you all aglow are exfoliating, deep cleansing, moisturizing, and protecting. Clogged pores and pollutants can wreak havoc on your skin and make it look dull and lifeless. The sun’s rays can add more to it by making you look prematurely aged and can even cause skin cancer. So, it is imperative that you render a visit to a spa monthly or bi-monthly, depending on your skin condition. Your aesthetician would be the best person to advice the treatments according to your specific skin care concerns.

You must also use a mild scrub at home to take off the dead cells from your skin. You can either invest in a good scrub or catch hold of some ingredients from your kitchen shelf like sugar, salt, walnut shells, etc. Be careful not to scrub too hard as this may cause scratches. Applying a facial mask once a week is a great habit that you must develop. Consult your aesthetician to choose the right mask for your skin.

The next important thing is moisturizing and protecting. Many people with oily skin think that they don’t need to moisturize. This is a big misconception, however. Whether you have an oily skin, a normal skin or a dry one, you need moisture to hydrate your skin. Before going out, never ever skimp off on the SPF, especially during the hot months. Check with your therapist on which product would be best suited to your skin type.

Once in a month, you can get your skin pampered with a full-body massage. A good massage therapy can decrease pockets of lactic acid that develops on your skin over time. You can also reduce cellulite and have a brighter complexion with a botanic massage.

Follow these skin essentials to have a beautiful skin as if gifted by Lady Aphrodite!

Regularly eaten for pleasure, pure indulgence and even as a dessert, chocolate is no doubt a worldwide favorite. These days, chocolate is also being also used in wellness spas and in various beauty treatments. If you have never ever tried a chocolate spa, here we give you enough reasons to go for it.

Yummy, lip-smacking, sumptuous chocolate! One would hardly imagine it being rubbed around one’s body for the fear of being sticky and senseless. However, it is least so. Chocolate does not feel sticky or uncomfortable at all. Rather, it calms the skin and is a great moisturizer too. It softens the skin and leaves a sweet, soothing, exotic scent. You will have to experience it if you want to have an out of the world experience that will leave you both happy and full of life.

The cocoa butter that is extracted from chocolate is being widely used in various beauty products. The fatty acids of cocoa smooth the skin and add radiance to it. This is obviously highly dependent on the type of chocolate being applied during the treatment.

The soothing scent of chocolate also triggers pleasant thoughts and helps to get rid of stress. One can compare the happy feeling similar to the one experienced while eating the chocolate.

Dark chocolate also has anti-oxidant properties, more than many of the well-known anti-oxidant rich foods. Regular treatments with dark chocolate are known to prevent premature ageing and skin damage. The quality of the chocolate, however, is very important. To get maximum benefits, the quality should be the finest. Although you won’t ingest chocolate during a treatment, the anti-oxidant property can still have a significant impact on your skin if done regularly.

Book an appointment for a chocolate spa and feel the difference you never imagined before!

It is quite interesting to see how people present themselves with different styles of clothes, make-up, their communication style, and so on... and we often take people by their first impression of their look. Although we may not want to face it, but we do judge people even before they say a word. In a scenario, where your first impression may often be the last impression, you would definitely not want to go wrong with your make-up that can either enhance your look or make you look like a make-up kit if overdone or wrongly-done.

So, here we bring you 5 common mistakes that are a strict no-no.

1. Foundation – An overdone foundation can make you look like you are wearing an icing on a cake and can make you appear older and sullen. Cake is meant to smooth out the skin tone, giving you a flawless look. So, go for a mineral make-up or apply foundation only when you are doubly-sure, not just for the sake of it.

2. Metallic and shimmery eye shadows – Frost eye shadows do look pretty, specially at night, but if you use them during the day, you may not look attractive at all, more so if you are an adult lady. Stick to a matt look during the day with colors blended well.

3. Clown cheeks – ladies often apply the wrong blush, making them look like clowns. The best way is to test your blush first and find out the one that is ideal for you. Always apply the blush lightly on your cheeks and up toward your temples.

4. Dark lip shades – Darker shades can make you look older. To look more youthful, choose natural shades complementing your skin tone and dab a gloss in the center for a little glow.

5. The same old look – Applying the same kind of make-up every time you step out and using a make-up kit for years long without thinking of the expiration date should be avoided. Update your look every season. Visit a spa and take help of an esthetician to decide the right make-up for you.

If you have signs of acne, you might have experienced low self-esteem, social isolation, loneliness, anxiety, phobias, or even depression. Instead of feeling low about it, accept the situation and take steps to combat acne and to overcome its psychological effects. Here we bring you some effective tips that you as a teenager, an adult, or a parent can follow to have an acne-free skin. The acne-free plan consists of two parts:

1. Spa solutions

The first thing that you need to do is to visit a good spa and have an expert aesthetician customize spa treatments to help clear your skin. The treatment may include deep cleansing, peels, microdermabrasion, etc., depending on your skin type and condition. Do not expect results in one sitting. Often, it requires few sittings before you can see positive results. So, have some patience and invest in a good spa. Botanic Skin Care & Spa in Miami have expert aesthetician who take care of your skin very nicely.

The part two requires some home care tips. In addition to the spa treatment, follow these clarification steps to get rid of your acne in a shorter time.

1. Cleanse your skin every morning and evening

2. Apply an acne mask once a week

3. Use acne spot treatment prescribed by your aesthetician

4. Apply a good acne cream morning and evening.

You can also try one of these proven home remedies that can work wonders for your skin.

• Apply tee-tree oil on acne and leave it overnight (for dry skin)

• Apply aloe vera juice twice a day (for all skin types)

• Make a thick paste with oatmeal by adding water to it. Apply and leave it on for 15 minutes (for all skin types)

• Apply tomato juice or rub tomato skin on your skin and leave it for 15 minutes (for oily skin)

• You can also apply organic yogurt for at least 10 minutes for a rejuvenating effect on your face (for all skin types)
